Nestled in a tranquil sylvan setting, the new library will be an extension of the quality library service and facilities already exhibited by the St. Joseph County Public Library. The exterior emulates a whimsical cottage in the woods. Natural stone materials, a variety of siding patterns, bracketing details and context-sensitive landscape complement the existing woodland setting. Interesting exterior expressions create a unique, contextual image and also serve to highlight interior functions. Large, dramatic windows bring in a natural light and capture beautiful views of the property. Turrets allow natural light to reach deep into the interior and create distinctive, inspiring spaces for patrons.
